I was one of the official festival photographers and was allowed full access to shoot the entire two day event. When the Flaming Lips played their headlining set Sunday evening they allowed the festival photographers, about four of us, to remain in the photo pit for their entire set. It was a fantastic experience being in between such an amazing live band and their fans for over an hour. The energy from the stage and the crowd was completely mind blowing. I’m just happy I didn’t screw it up and was able to work while also rocking out. These are some of my favorite live shots I have ever taken, probably because of the memories of the show. These Photographs are of the Flaming Lips playing the Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco in 2009. These were taken with a Sony DSLR with a 50 mm prime lens.
